Upcycling, recycling, ecology, sustainable fashion our favourite brands and influencers

In recent years, we have heard more and more talk about CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility), corporate conscience, but also about greenwashing… But what is behind these names? Which companies are involved and what are their actions?

The issue of sustainable development was first raised in 1987 at a United Nations conference by the Norwegian Prime Minister, Gro Harlem Brundtland. At that time, there was still too little awareness of the need to preserve resources: human, economic and above all environmental.

A few years later the reports came out: it is necessary to reduce the effects of greenhouse gases before 2050, otherwise the planet and its entire ecosystem would be at risk of losing them.

This is how a change in business began. Many companies have had to rework their business model to limit their impact, others, like E2R, have decided to create « THE business model » according to ecological constraints and in order to limit their impact!

Designing sustainable products, finding recycled or natural materials, producing in a responsible way, all this creates real constraints, it is often more difficult than producing without worrying about anything. This is why we take our hats off to all those who, like us, have embarked on such adventures!

Here are our favourites for a few brands committed from A to Z to the preservation of the environment.

NOYOCO

Created in 2014, this brand has set itself one objective: to offer a completely eco-responsible wardrobe thanks to its upcycled, organic or low ecological impact materials such as liocell, organic cotton, or virgin wool.

A committed player, because of COVID-19, Noyoco has launched the manufacture of 10,000 masks at the request of health institutions. These masks are made of washable and reusable cotton.

Congrats for this great initiative!

OTH

A promising small business, OTH (Off the Hook, tiré d’affaire in French) combines style and responsibility with its line of shoes made from recycled tires! Trendy, sturdy and eco-responsible, they appeal to more and more « sneaker addicts » concerned about their ecological footprint!

OTH

HOPAAL

A proponent of recycling, Hopaal offers a men’s and women’s wardrobe made exclusively from recycled materials (recycled clothing, recycled polyester or cotton). These responsible clothing collections are made in Europe with the utmost transparency at all levels. As a bonus, they donate 1% of their turnover to the association « 1% for the planet ».

LEFTOVERS dits LOVERS

Lucile has worked for more than 20 years in the cashmere industry, she knows all the tricks of the trade, and knows the suppliers of the major brands. Nearly 10% of the raw materials manufactured for the clothing industry are not used in the end…

In a spinning mill, a tannery, at a weaver’s, it’s called the LEFTOVER.

These materials, as noble, as beautiful, as soft as the ones that have been manufactureddo not serve, despite their quality. A huge waste.

Lucile has decided to bring them to life, working with the best craftsmen to create unique collections, in limited series according to her inspiration.
